Mein pers\u00f6nliches Italien ist nicht so \u00fcppig wie das Buch: die Schallplatten von Lucio Battisti, ein klassisches Rennrad von Tommasini, Pasta von kleineren Manufakturen.und vor allem die Bialetti-Moka \u2013 gezeichnet von hunderten Espresso-Eins\u00e4tzen auf unserem Wiener Gasherd. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Halb verfaulter Hai oder lieber Zuppa\ndi pesce?&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gleich auf den ersten Seiten stellt Monocle-Chef Tyler Br\u00fbl\u00e9 die Killer-Frage: Wenn wir f\u00fcr den Rest unseres Lebens nur noch <em>eine<\/em> Landesk\u00fcche h\u00e4tten, welche w\u00e4r\u2019s? Island f\u00e4llt in dieser Frage schon mal aus dem Rennen: wer will &nbsp;schon sein Leben lang vergorenen und f\u00fcr Monate in der Erde vergrabenen Hai namens H\u00e1karl auf dem Teller? Also lieber Essen vom Italiener \u2013 und das am besten in Italien. Auf ihrer Grand Tour durch den Stiefel reisen sie durch die Vielfalt der Regionen und geben ein look and feel der wichtigsten Metropolen von Bozen bis Palermo. Das Kapitel Design belegt, dass Minimalismus keine Italienische Str\u00f6mung ist. Alle Design-Ikonen, die wir t\u00e4glich zuhause und im B\u00fcro nutzen, haben neben der Funktion immer auch etwas spielerisches in Form und Farbe. Italienisches Design zielt auf ein L\u00e4cheln bei der Nutzung. \u00dcbrigens: der Schnellzug Frecciarossa wurde im Turiner Studio Bertone designt \u2013 auch verantwortlich f\u00fcr die legend\u00e4re Guilietta von Alfa Romeo. Und flux geht&#8217;s zum Kapitel Mobilit\u00e4t: Boote der Marke Riva und sportive Autos machen uns neidisch, die Dauerbrenner von Vespa bis zum Lasten-Dreirad Ape \u2013 dem Klassiker in vielen Schwarzweiss-Filmen. Nur Alitalia ist inzwischen Geschichte. Beispielsweise ein Besuch bei Gabriele Gmeiner, Schuhmacherin in Venedig. Bei ihr wartet man gerne zw\u00f6lf Monate auf ein Paar handgefertigte Massschuhe. Und abseits der Metropolen entdeckt <em>Monocle<\/em> unabh\u00e4ngige Modelabels wie Zoe (Bassano del Grappa) und Sugar (Arezzo). Spannend ist auch die \u00dcbersicht, wie sehr italienische Markenprodukte unseren tristen Alltag erhellen: von Alessi \u00fcber Nutella bis zur Vespa. Gut, wichtig und sch\u00f6n. Immer erfinden Italiener*innen Sachen, die unser Leben angenehmer und sprizziger machen. Das gilt besonders f\u00fcr das Kapitel Hospitality\/Gastfreundschaft mit vielen Highlights der italienischen K\u00fcche. Wenn Lesen satt machen k\u00f6nnte. . . Zus\u00e4tzlich gibt es Tipps f\u00fcr essentials im Vorratsschrank f\u00fcr graue Wochenenden. Rechtzeitig die Regale auff\u00fcllen. Gut, das sind Fragen, die man seinem coffeetable \u00fcblicherweise nicht stellt. Daf\u00fcr punktet das sehr abwechslungsreich gestaltete <em>The Monocle Book of Italy<\/em> bei unseren Erwartungen an italienisches Leben: fare una bella figura.
